SCHOLARSHIPS 

NCBW-QCMC Scholarship opportunities

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women is a non-profit women’s organization.  Our mission is to improve the lives of African American women and their families by creating programs focusing on family, education, health and finances. The QCMC was chartered in Charlotte, NC on September 20, 2009.  We endeavor to support the community as well as aspiring young African American women by providing assistance and encouragement to further their education. This is a Merit/Need based Scholarship.

Scholarship Awards
Two (2) awards in the amount of $1,000.00 (payable in two (2) installments of $500).  The awards will be sent directly to the recipient’s school upon verification of enrollment.  The awards are non-renewable.  
 
NOTE:  Immediate family members of QCMC members are ineligible to apply.

2020 HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Sky Everson will matriculate at Winston Salem State University majoring in Finance and minoring in either accounting or Spanish. In the next 4 years, she hopes to have the chance to study abroad or do some traveling on her own, so that she may further her education and knowledge.

Lauren Mitchell is a graduate of Rocky River High. She will be attending Winston-Salem State University, where she plans to major in Biology. During high school, she was active in Student Government, Theater, Yearbook Club and the Dance Team. She also started a Girls Club for young women to encourage and uplift one another. She was part of the leadership team for Teen Health Connection,  a community organization that promotes drug free behavior in teens. This group worked to bring events to youth. It had a significant impact on the woman she is today.

Kendall Terry is a 2020 graduate of Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology with an emphasis in Health Sciences. While at Phillip O. Berry, she was the Women’s Varsity Basketball Captain for two years, the President of The National Technical Honor Society, and an active member of The National Honor Society. This fall, Kendall  plans to attend The University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a member of the Lloyd International Honors College majoring in Psychology on The Pre-Medicine Track. She aspires to become either an orthopedic surgeon or a psychiatrist.
