COMMUNITY EDUCATION INITIATIVE
BLACK WOMEN'S RESPONSE TO THE WAR ON WOMEN
As part of its Community Education Initiative, the Civic Engagement Committee of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. – Queen City Metropolitan Chapter is hosting Saturday Reading Circles. The purpose of this program is to promote learning and discussion of topics central to the advancement of Black women and girls. The reading circles will examine issues that face Black women and girls and explore Black women’s historical and contemporary political participation.
This month’s readings are from recent reports which examine the conditions of Black women in the United States. The discussion will focus on the economic status of Black women, as determined by multiple indicators highlighted in the reports.
